Hi all! After being retired for a while, I found a new (quite old) victim: a Primus 76 stove from 1930 (U). Does anyone know the diameter of the jet and the cleaning needle? Another question: how is the valve packing made up? If anyone asks why the wheel and stem are separated. This is the photo the seller posted. Someone soldered the stove on the wrong side of the wheel. Thanks in advance. Best regards. Hector.
Well, it is for petrol so it is small, that is all I have att the moment, it will be some weeks til I can check in mine
And is this thread it says that: "The orifice of the jet is slightly over 0.40mm. It takes a #78 drill which is 0.406mm. The cleaning needle of the 77 stove measures 0.40mm in diameter."
Thanks @tretrop & @Tony Press I have lot of work before to mount the generator and valve assembly. There is no hurry. My doubt is about if Primus 77's jet is the same as the 76 one. 77 jet must feed two burners instead one as the 76. So I pressuming that the jet diameter must be 0.35mm to keep the orifice area by half. The valve stem packing with double nut keeps me desoriented.
Looking at the below, the new burnerr uses the 4902 and the old style 4086. Have No clue to what size either of them are. But mine with old style burner is buring yellow and I think it has the newer jet fitted. So, it would be interesting to know these dimensions
@tretrop So... Is there a spring inside the vaporising tube? Another piece I don't have. I guess between the rod and the tube as heat exchanger.
So, some feedback. The 4086 was replaced by 4902 and the diam. is 0,4 mm. But I sure would like to check the actual diam on a 4086 ! Maby @Conny C or @optipri knows?
