I just bought this nice stove. It is not «mint condition», as it seems to have been stored in a damp place. It comes with the original box. It had some light rust at the edges of the steel frame, which I removed by polishing. Also I polished some spots on the underside of the tank. The stove has never been fired, as the pictures show. So I will not either. No flame shots!
As can be seen in the pictures, the strings in the two-sided prickers are rusted. I plan to fix new wires on these, probably using guitar-strings. Can I assume that 0,30 mm is the correct size? The packing says "Nr. 0,30" - which is my "clue".
Very neat. Does that lever under the fuel cap release pressure or does it direct escaping air downward when the cap is loosened? Different design than Swedish stoves for releasing pressure instead of a thumb screw? Duane
@hikerduane - the "lever" is actually just an oddly shaped air release screw. And it is considerably thinner than the standard size on Optimus/Primus 1/5 and the like..
The photos were taken at 20.30 north of the arctic circle. I could have waited a few hours, and still used the sun for lighting :-)
