Well I took a punt on a tbay special, I was looking for a challenge as I'm new to this pressure stove malarky. The stove was a none runner which needed new seals, a good clean and desoldering of the pump tube to release the old NRV. I also needed to do some peening to the burner to correct the jet size. I learnt along the way by reading many helpful threads on this site, a bit of YouTube and pecking my brother's head. I really enjoyed the whole process and onto my next challenge. I gather you get your pics on whilst the stove is still shiny lol.
I've been watching your work on a regular basis and keeping my fingers crossed. You set the bar high for yourself and you managed. A successful job. Congratulations.
Cheers chaps I'm happy with it, I'm thinking I might take it on camp to test it's real world usability.
@Outdoorsdad Very neat soldering on the pump tube! Is that flame spreader a Burmos one? It looks a little too big. I have picked up a Primus 96 this morning which has a Burmos flame spreader on it which is a little too small! If you should find yours is not Burmos I would happily do a swap? Mine has Burmos England in raised letters on it. Cheers Nick
Yes it didn't come with a flame spreader so I had to buy one and the only one I could find quickly was a Primus. I'll do swap no bother but currently out camping so I can't get very good reception but I'll be back home tomorrow.
