Purchasing web site, positive or negative?

Well, that's true enough....but in this case I had to wait almost a month to find out for sure I did a stoopid thing. And I did have to ask for my monies to be returned. Although, I have been buying stuff online for decades, and can count on one hand how many times I got truly screwed. I bought a radio amplifier from some guy in Brazil, got the amp ok, but the tubes were all broken. Had the seller file a shipping claim, it was granted....but the jerk never sent me the insurance money, still a bit steamed about that one......

 

I have, but didn't need to as I have stumbled upon others just like it. Typical fraud site that aggregates product listings from other virtual storefronts like eBay and Amazon. The prices are either ridiculously low or ridiculously high (and all in the same narrow range) because it's all automated with a bot and there's nobody cleaning up after it. I'm looking at a $400 Yeti cooler right now listed for $66.25.

I use my debit card to get cash out of an ATM and that's it. Way back when the big Target data breach happened and debit cards became especially vulnerable, my bank tried to sell me on a separate "prepaid" debit with limited funds(which I guess is common now). When I shot them down by saying I only purchase with credit and never debit, I think the person actually frowned. I know, bummer that I only use the card with more fraud protection.
