what thickness of washer should I use in the filler cap in a valor55 2pint with a silent burner? I tried a 125thou washer but I felt it was too thick as I could only get 2 turns on the filler cap. Jusy learning so I am almost a newbie.
Hi I checked a spare unused filler cap washer(nitrile rubber) it’s about 2 mm. Washer should ideally be Viton as supplied by At your service! - The Fettlebox Have you removed the old probably rock hard washer ? @Ian Mackie
Dont know what the old washer was but half of it had disolved /melted /and gone brittle but yes all the gunk was removed. Iam trying a 2mm washer out of a tilley lamp not quite the right diameter but is working giving me more turns on the filler cap.
