It the pump end has threads but whatever attached to it is missing.









The outer cap is inscribed "SPECIAL SWEDISH HEAT RESISTING ALLOY" around the outside and "MAX SIEVERT STOCKHOLM" around the inside. "Made in Sweden" at the bottom and "No 829" in the middle.

 

That is awesome. Looks like it's missing the reserve cap, that screws into the fount when the burner's not being used. I think that's what screws onto the pump handle knob. Great find.

Actually I confirm that on the pump knob should be the reserve cap. A new one that goes on an Optimus 00 fits, also if it looks a little different. Juliands on eBay have some on sale.

Anyway seems that you have opened your cave, some great stoves are coming out lately, especially the Optimus sets.

Hi @ulysses . I have both a Svea 26 and a Svea 36 but alas neither came to me with the heater attachments:

I have tank shields for normal domestic classic pressure stoves but I never seen a heater tank shield “in the flesh”

I have something like 16 Svea heaters, models 25,26,35,36.

Only one has the heat shield: a nichel plated 26 with aluminum bowl and shield.

Hi, @z1ulike - Could I ask a favour? I'd like to know the size of the "protection bands" on the heater.

I have this heater stove (Primus no. 154/1 from 1950 (AO)) which I believed to be a Primus 154 model, as the stove itself is a Primus 54. But the size of the heater bowl (12" / 30,5 cm diameter) has led me to believe it is a Svea model.

Regardless of the brand, I now need to make the "protection bands" in front of the heater. I assume the thickness of the brass is approx 1 mm? Could you please measure the width of the bands - approx 6-7 mm? I also wonder what the radius is, - is it comparable to the radius of the bowl - approx 15 cm, i.e. does it match the rim of the bowl?

 

@Harvard Kvernelv I posted those photos 2 years ago and I have no idea where I put that stove. I've got stoves stashed everywhere. I'll look around and let you know if I find it.

@Håvard Kvernelv I have measured the protection cage bands on my Svea No.26 (here). The brass bands are 6mm wide and 1.5mm thick. Hope this helps.
