My Omnilite Ti has been a real pain on paraffin. I put a new .25 jet in it and it would block and basically not work full stop, (after a prime with meths,) I did not fancy a paraffin prime due to soot, smell etc. Tried a .35 jet from the service kit and it was better but gave all the indications of over fueling at lower settings ie yellow flame tips, but a real hot roar at higher settings. So I went back to the .25 jet and used a .26 pricker to reem it out until it was an easy fit and hey presto she now runs like a champ, either the jet was undersized to start or it needs to be bigger for paraffin? Any thoughts ? cheers Nick
Is it New? Or have it been used for some time? Some New omnifuel and omnilite comes with some kind of ressedue inside from production. I talked with primus about on email this week. I had a omnifuel that had these problems. And the past year I have seen fairly many omni fuel/lite stoves causing problems brand new from the box. Primus said they have had some reports about the issue and they was going to look into it. You can have some lose particals behind the jet that comes lose time to time. They might fall of from the adjustment needle and start blocking the jet. I would take adusjustment neeedle out and clean it good. Soot can form in the groves and make trouble. Also take the jet out and clean the burner head as good as possible.
@Kristoffer Sundt Sandnes No it’s not new but not used much. I am glad it’s not just me, I will break it down and do as you say. I was getting a bit fed up with it to be honest. Modern stoves are not my thing but a good brand at a cheap price is always worth trying! Cheers Nick
Mine have worked flawless since I did the a good clean up, so dont doubt on it. Its actually one of my favorite stoves of the new era. If it is really dirty you can take the burner completly apart and put it in citric acid and dishwasher soap and brush it clean with a nylon brush. I used a long needle/pip-cleaner(those furry white things with metalwire inside) to clean the pipe on the burnerhead. Remove o-ring on adjustment if you put it in the cleaning solution. In the groves between the treads there can be build up of sot and on the needle point. That can cause problems. So clean it up and inside the burner head. Flush it with the fuel you use before putting it togheter again. Did a full clean and service on mine after been used quiet alot last winter and this summer.
@Kristoffer Sundt Sandnes I stopped it right down and dunked all the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner and changed the rubber O rings it’s made a real difference to th power at full throttle and the control at the lower end of the scale. These are obviously fairly precise bits of kit as there was not much dirt in the parts. Thanks for your assistances Kristoffer. Nick
@nmp Glad to hear! I have the same impression, the bits and pices are fairly presis and sometimes it does not take alot of sot to decreas the power output.

@nmp Yes, it was priming after last good clean up. The Omnifuel II has a bit more power than Omnilite TI but it also consume some more fuel. Yes, I tie mostly tubeflies for salmonfishing In a river called Gaula in Norway.
I was not referring to yours. I posted a photo by @Kristoffer Sundt Sandnes and he replied that it was a priming flame.
When I bought my Trangia MF2(quite similar to Omnilite but cheaper version) - it had very spread and yellow flame from one jet and acceptable but still partly yellow flame from the other jet - while inspecting very close, I found that the final cut including outlet cone of the hole was out of center on the outside of the jet. Flattened the surface with a wetstone, centered the sink with a very small drill bit by hand and finished with cleaning needle - then it worked nice with steady blue flames.
I had the same experience, I just thought that some oil/lubricants in the tube/or somewhere inside, from the manufacturing process might be a reason why, IDK what was the real reason. Anyway I tried to use Butane fuel instead, with the heaviest orifice jet, after a while, I tried Kerosene with the right minimal orifice jet and it worked.
Like @Yun124 Said, some primus stoves comes with some kind of ressidue inside the house/burner bell. This makes the stove to clog almost brand new. When this is adressed and taken care of you can burn many litres of petrol before it becomes any problem. Priming the stove propperly and shutting it down with flipping the flask to off and let it burn the fuel left in the fuelline before closing any valves are crucial. If you close a valve you will get this smal "candle light" at the end that causes alot of sot.
