Hi Guys, I inherited from my parents a green stove. I used it many times as a child and younger person. These days it is having trouble pumping up and getting pressure. I think the valve at the bottom of the pump is blocked. I have put a new pump leather in a few years ago. I'm looking at getting it working and if it goes well I may get it repainted. It has Primus parts in it. Date stamp on the tank is AD34. My guess is that it was made in NZ using new parts from Primus (probably due to import duties). Does anyone know how to get the pump to work correctly? I have ordered a spanner to remove the valve in the bottom of the pump. Does anyone know who made it and what the Primus parts are so I can order spares? Mike in Feilding, New Zealand

Welcome, @Michael Prior. Your stove is a gasoline Primus 77 like the one here: Primus No 77 Check the case for any Primus markings. The label looks like “Relax”. EDIT: The AD on the tank denotes 1939 as the manufacture date. Cheers Tony
Thanks everyone, searching on Primus 77 and New Zealand has found it is probably a "1930s RELAX camp stove. JJ McCaskey & Son Wellington New Zealand" So thats great. So now to find out how to make it work correctly as it will not pump up very well and does not run for long.
You may find the post I made HERE useful Mike. My completed rebuild is HERE. The pump has a larger bore than most camp stoves, more on a par with a Coleman pump’s, on the left. A safety feature to prevent pressurised gasoline from percolating up the pump tube if the non-return valve ‘pip’ seal fails in use, is the facility for the pump knob to screw into the pump cap … … pushing the conical tip of the pump rod into the NRV air entry hole, creating a positive shut-off should the valve seal fail. The NRV has a larger diameter than a conventional one, though the usual NRV key/wrench fits it. John
Looking at presscall.1296 photos of the generator I can see the pricker. My one is broken, and was broken for years as I remember having to manually prick it as a teenager. Is there anywhere that a replacement can be purchased?
Broken pricker? Should it be longer? If so, can you heat it up and pull it out a bit? I have done that before.

Hello Folks I have the pricker needle from basecamp. The problem I'm having is dismantling the vapouriser to get the needle out. I have removed the knob and nut from the control knob but I can not get the rod out of the vapouriser. I have heated the vapouriser and tried a few times. I'm thinking the problem maybe carbon build up on the rod inside the vapouriser. Has anyone got any ideas on how to get this apart?
Patience, lots of tapping, lots of heat to burn off carbon, penetrating oil? If like working on the generator for a lantern. Duane
