Almost mint Phoebus 625 in Austria

I could not resist when I saw this one in an eBay auction.
Luckily I could snipe it almost at starting price.
It was only fired up a few times. I did not clean or restore anything on it. The pictures show it as it arrived. If the numbers on the papers show the printing date it was sold after January 1965.
I will keep it as a collectors item since I have enough 625 stoves till the end of my days. You need only one. If it gets not not stolen it will serve you forever with only a little of maintenance.

Wonderful 625!! And, thanks for all the photos of your special find! Back when I first got into collecting stoves, I really wanted a Phoebus 625. But, here in the States, their importation had stopped in the early 1970's, and no camping stores had anything like that in stock. My Mother-in-law was going on a trip to Europe, with her husband, and her sister, and her husband. As they were planning to visit Austria, I asked her to please keep an eye out for a 625 for me. I showed her a photo of one, in an older camping magazine, so she knew what to look for. She was having NO luck, until she came to one place, to told her that no stores in that area had anything like that, but that, if she would take a short train ride, there was a place where she might get one. The four of them took the train ride, and yes, she found me a brand new Phoebus 625! But, even cooler, is that, just as they all got off the train, at that exact moment, the sister of one of the guys, came out of a subway station!! Neither the brother, nor sister, knew that the other would be in Europe, and especially Austria!! What are the chances of that ever happening! So, that first Phoebus 625 is still a very special stove to me, even though I have several others, now!

Finding such a complete Phoebus 625 in that condition is a rare occasion. Especially for one from the 1960ies. The later ones from 1970ies pop up quite regulary in good to very good condition.

Currently there is one for sale from Austrian Army. Kerosine version, almost unused.
An older one with the aluminium pump in round container in fair condition is also on sale.

On the label of the carton there is a date stamp "8. JUNI 19??" Is it 1955 or 1965?
