Hi, I am new to CCS and am hoping someone can tell me more about a PITSOS camp stove I found. Measures 7" in height, base is 5.75" in diameter. Could not find any info anywhere! Thanks, Odge

A kerosene wick stove. Tubular wick, blue flames when it’s got hot enough.

the knob only moves a little in each direction, if it is free then it would move a wick up and down? and to create pressure it would need to be preheated right? also, the fuel cap is frozen so i need to get that figured out

@Dave S Generally the paraffin lubricates the wick and winding mechanism so after adding paraffin and leaving to soak in for 1 to 2 hours it may well free up, do not attempt to force it when dry. The fuel cap I would use some penetrating oil and then maybe heat then cold then heat and patience and hopefully it will free up. Wick stoves of that type do not require pre-heating and are not pressurised. Nice looking stove!

    Interesting wickie.

The photos are fine. I myself don't post thumbnails, I prefer full size. Practices vary.

No, it’s not a pressure stove, no pre-heat required. Just light the wick (burner removed) replace the burner. Adjust the wick height to optimise the flame. Too low extinguishes, too high creates yellow flames and smoke. Not a lot of wick height adjustment is necessary on that type of burner, so not much movement between too low and too high.

I use to fullsize the most interesting photos and thumbnail the others when posting many photos.

Update - I used a bit of Liquid Wrench (with careful force) and the cap came off. Put some kerosene in it and it works like a charm. I do not have way to measure the BTU's but I did get a nice blue flame. Thank you to everyone for the info / help

Do you have some "flame shots"? Pictures of well burning stoves are just awesome to see.

@LoveFire Dave S has not been on line since that last post and I did see it for sale on e-bay shortly after.
