Hello, Cogniscenti I came into these 2 stoves recently, and would like help identifying them. There are slight differences: 1) tank weld (one has large raised seam) 2) hex nut on cap 3) hex nut on fuel stem leading from tank (i realize that large one is stripped) 4) diameter of stem fitting hex key I thought I was buying 2 99's, but the one with the raised seam, smaller hex nut on cap, smaller male key stem fitting and small nut at stem-tank juncture is just so different. Could I hope it is a 111? I've been wanting a kerosene stove, but not for $120. Any ideas? Don
Both are 99s. 199 has a silent burner. Picture a V8 in a VW. 111 is bigger box. 3 basic versions of 111. Look up in the gallery.
111s are big brother of the 8R/99 size see here you may have an Asian 99 copy or 2? 99s have a label (might peel off). some or all 99s are also stamped. Asian copy could also be stamped
Maybe you are buying more stoves that someone messed up. Might look for a better source of stoves. Gotta pay to play, might need to find 111's that need some love. I have many 111's I had to repaint. Duane
Very nice. I just picked up a 99 in similar condition to yours yesterday. It appears you don't have the priming cup installed between the burner and tray. I can see it off to the side so maybe just for pics and cleaning.
