Hi, you have Optimus No. 5 S Not a Opimus No.55. The S is the abbreviation for Senior, and despite what the name might imply, was a slightly cheaper version of the original No.5….for example the brass used in the tank was of a thinner gauge than in the No.5. Best Regards, Kerophile.

Regulated means that the power of the stove can varied by using a control valve built into the burner of the stove. And circa mid 1960's the 5S versions were re-named 5 as the slightly more expensive old No:5 versions were discontinued.
