Beatrice may have been more generic than Primus or Hoover but most people outside Britain have forgotten that thirsty and stinky piece of cast iron today. Mine is the most common swedish version - 2 wick Husqvarna.
Wonderful! Looks to be in great shape, with only a little bit of restoration needed. I have a Union single wick. It runs very economically and without stink at all. Useful for many things.
Mine works fine on low wick but as it is a dead flame burner any high flames will be dirty. I bought the one with only original paint as I value that more than the usual re-painted ones. Had to trim one of the wicks and fill kerosene in the tank.
The flame level in the advertise produce some visible soot smoke in my Beatrice while below mid of the window seems ok. My phonecam has some trouble handling sharp light.
I finally found the brand of our lovely single burner stove. Thank you for sharing these valuable pictures with us. The only thing that is different except the number of burners is the perforated wind blocking panels. Mine has'n got any. Yours seems new. I also tried to cut similar panel for mine but the flame has started producing soot. This panel reduces oxygen intake. If you use it indoors, I kindly suggest to remove these panels and give it a try. Also liquid paraffins sold here as candle oil is too thick for this stove. Therefore I stick to kerosene, however it produces some nasty odor. Maybe Zibro Extra like fuels will do the trick.
Here in the UK Parasene sold a small vial of deodoriser. turns out it was just citronalla oil! Thats what I add to my kero for use inside the house. works well for me.
Thank you G1gop! I'll try it. How many drops or volume for a specific quantity of kerosene are you using? Also one strange thing I've noticed is that the smelly kerosene turns out to smell like paint thinner (synthetic thinner) in my pressure lantern's oil tank. In hurricane lanterns, kerosene continues to smell strongly.
The Parasene one was a small 5ml vile. supposed to be one er tank of fuel. I put half a dozen drop in a lamp tank. Two lamps are perm on the side board in the lounge Ready for use.No smell at all even if you go up and sniff them lol
Citronella oil did work amazingly good. However I have put a little bit more than you have recommended. Thank you for your suggestion G1gop.
Your welcome. If I remember correctly it's a case of one fragrance neutralising another chemically as far as you nose goes but I was into this over 30 years ago.
