This little single burner stove was sold by Sears 1934-1935 from what I have found in my research. Based on the valve wheel style, and placement, as well as the burner style it was decided that this stove was built by Prentiss Wabers and badged for sell by Sears and Roebuck. Thru extensive research and visiting with other collectors, it is believed this may be the only one of these left in existence. I haven’t been able to locate another one any where, and I have searched long and hard and have gone thru photo files till the wee hrs. of the night many times. If you perhaps know of another let me know.
I've got a bunch of old Prentiss Wabers stuff, and I don't see any resemblance in burners or any parts really. I would doubt it is a PW.
I have a Turner stove and the pumps are not alike, it is a PW pump, PW valve body as seen on the 418P. In fact it is the single burner model of the 418P.
Surprise! I've got one too. How do you light these up? I've oiled the pump leather and get good pressure but I don't know the lighting sequence. What are the two knobs for and which do you open first? Thanks, Ben
@snwcmpr That was helpful. Knowing it was Prentiss-Wabers I was able to find lighting instructions for a similar Preway stove in the Reference Library. Ben
