New finding. A Valor stove

Hi everyone,

Found and bought today this stove.
It is a Valor and made in England.

Appreciate any advice or information. The stove is in a very decent condition. The stove has a small Accessory in form of a short tube with a small wick at one of the sides and a clip (mostly to be attached to the U tubes) but I am not sure which side shall be upside.

Is there a model number on the tank? 55 at a guess?

 

The stove requires some cleaning. A soft but solid layer of a kind of rust seems covering the writings over the tank. Over the burner cap there is a number 4555. Not sure it indicates the number.

 

Many thanks @kerophile for the guidance. I was then lucky today to have a genuine retro quick lighter.

 

Noticed that the burner's inner cap also having a different number. By result the stove is having no. 4555 for the upper cap and 4554 for the inner cap.

 

Hi @Migwar You have British-made VALOR No.55 stove:

The part-number of the outer burner cap is # 4555
The part-number of the inner burner cap is # 4554.

Much appreciated @kerophile yes, it is exactly the same stove. I will do some research about its history while doing the essential fettling to fire it the soonest

Fired it today, for the first time, for the afternoon brew.

 

Looking good, these silents are just the thing indoors, quiet, powerful.... and far more fun than gas or electricity. Closer to kindling a real fire I suppose.
