    Got this Army No12 stove.
There is a pin hole on the tank, on the filler neck. This needed to be tig welded.

What fuel does it run on.
It had Red Diesel in it, with water contamination.

Some say Derv, some say Kerosene, some say paraffin, some say Petrol/Napier and one site suggested lamp oil.

    What is the best fuel?

This stove was designed for army use. All modern army vehicles run on diesel, so this stove is designed to use the same fuel. Logistically it would be a pain in the bottom to have a separate supply line for stoves that use a very limited amount of fuel compared to trucks, tanks and etc.
The best fuel however is clear paraffin as it burns cleaner (no dopes!!!).

I know from personal experience that it will run fine on diesel, paraffin and home heating oil without any change in jetting etc. Anecdotally, I've been told they'll burn Jet-A1 without issue.
