    Hi all,

I managed to make a new wick with cotton strings and that worked pretty well. Now my flame is a bit stronger but still yellow tips. Also starting the bugger is a burden, lot of using the clearing needle to get it proper working. Also after 10 minuten the flame goes dimmer and dies out.

So my question is, is my wick poor or do I need a new jet/nipple . If so is 2502 Nipple .32mm a proper one.

( sorry if it is answered allready in another post, but I searched this forum for answers but couldnt find a suitable one )
    Thnx in advance

It may help to put the stove into the case , and maybe add a kettle on the pot stands to provide more thermal feedback to the tank . In general the flame should be growing stronger in that 10 minute timeline that your flame is now getting weaker . Just a thought

If you are having to use the tip cleaner a lot, something is plugging it (duh) and either there is debris in tank or your wick is falling apart. I would pull it back apart and inspect wick.

Did you do a dunk test?

Yes did the dunk test, its airtight. I've tried different wicks, clean ones. And after pricking and fiddling its finally burns ok.....untill I turn it off. A restart results in a sputter of flames and then a small candleflame at jet. Cant figure out why, even after complete disassembly and rigorous cleaning. Only after further fiddling it runs again after 10 minutes pricking, burning heater cup and swearing.

It can be a distorted fuel flow or a bonky jet.

What I dont understatement is that when it runs it burns nicely blue with a firm mixture flow. For at least 10 minutes.

At one point I thought that the regulator pin pushed dirt in the "chamber" when I close it. But couldnt find dirt when I cleaned it. Maybe there is a buildup in the "elbow" , a place I cant clean proper. A bath in aceton for a Day didnt give me loose dirt after a chimney sweep.
