The gasket in question is between the burner and the tank body on a Phoebus 725. I purchased it from Fettlebox (actually a kit with it) in December, and installed it in the stove right after Christmas. The stove passed a dunk test & a short test burn. First time I actually used it was just to boil water, less than 10 minutes, did fine. The second time I used it, it developed a leak after about 5 minutes. I extinguished the stove & removed the pot to a different stove while the Phoebus cooled. After 10 minutes, enough fuel had leaked out to fill the priming divot to overflowing, so a pretty bad leak. The burner is as tight as I dare make it. I plan to disassemble & re-clean the two mating surfaces as best I can, but should I reuse this gasket or order another with the requisite 4 week wait & shipping fees that are more than the parts (not a complaint, they cross the ocean much faster & cheaper than I can)? Thanks.

Sometimes a seal needs tightening down after first use, although in this case it sounds like that's not possible. Have you checked the joint is not bottoming out, i.e. can it be tightened without the gasket in place up to and beyond where it currently stops?

Clean thoroughly, inspect, reassemble, test. If it works, press on and use it but make sure a spare is on order...

Being a cheap bum, I reuse all gaskets if they are not buggered up in some way. As long as the mating surfaces are clean, and undamaged reuse them. Sometimes I'll put some permatex on the surfaces to ensure a good seal but often that is not necessary.
