    Hello everyone,

Today, I managed to acquire a primus 96. The purchase includes the stove, but unfortunately, it is without its box and flame spreader. The stove can still function without the box; however, it cannot operate without the spreader. Therefore, I am in need of purchasing a flame spreader. I would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance if they happen to have one available.

    Thank you.

Do you colleagues advise that I keep it as is or try to fettle it? Which is tempting (to note that when I've used the pump rod from my other 96 and while holding both the filler cap opening and the tank whole closed, the tank pressurized)? I am keen to see it burning.
Also regarding cleaning, I am planning not to apply any citirc acid solution nor buffing for the time being.

I would try to get it running if it would be my 96. I haven't polished my stoves. I let them show their age (also I am quite lazy so it saves some time & work when I am not polishing them ).

    Hello @Migwar

Congratulations on this wonderful early 96.

Regarding the flame plate, I just noticed that the Ebay listing for the replica plate that @hikerduane linked excludes shipping to Middle Eastern countries. In case you can't get it from ebay, I have such a replica flame plate as a spare lying around.

Last year, I got an incomplete 1916 Primus 96 and at first bought the replica flame plate for it. Later, I found an original flame plate that better matches the slightly newer burner bell on mine. Therefore, I do not need the replica. If that helps, just let me know and I can send it to you. Depending on the slots in your burner bell, the tabs on the plate might just need a little work with a file.

Alternatively, you could of course try to make a burner plate yourself from a suitable piece of cast iron or maybe steel.

    Best regards,

    Christina

Thank you for your comments @Afterburner and @Tony Press I will consider getting it to work only.

Thank you very much @night_owl for your comment and for your suggestion to support regarding the flame plate. I will send you a PM to coordinate.

    Much appreciated.
