I present to you a Super Bleuet produced in Japan under license from the French design. I've seen many French and Swedish examples of this stove but have not seen another Japanese one. This stove was last fired at least 35 years ago but lit right up with the installed Campingaz cylinder. I assume the seals will disintegrate when / if I replace the cylinder but I'm impressed that it held pressure for four decades. Original coffee stains intact. I'd appreciate any help identifying the date of manufacture!
@_kurt Welcome to CCS. A very interesting first post. I had no idea that these stoves were made outside of France. That's a very nice example. It would be good for the completeness of this thread if you could add more pictures of the base so that all of the Japanese text can be viewed. It is possible that there is a date hiding in there somewhere. They have two dating systems in Japan. One that is unique to the country that references how many years since the current Emperor ascended and the other uses the western year followed by the month and then the date (YYYY/MM/DD) . There is also at least two intermingled alphabets on your second picture just to make it even more interesting. Regards John
is there an adaptor for this? i have one that i got on a backpack trip in europe many years ago.the only problem might be the way the legs sit on the cartage in the wrong position to make a pot holder.+
