***** that's exactly right I don't see the numbers of each post that mentions where it is written on that page Do you count all the posts or do they include it in a special place?
Last week we got a lot of snow around my home, so I decide to go on a small cross country ski tour for today. Also I want to use this chance to test the burner in the field. At -4°C degree and slight wind I build a small area with some flat stone underneath as heat protection against the frozen underground. It took me aprox 20 minutes and 30ml of gasoline to melt the snow and boil 200ml of water for my tea. Because of the wind I had to ignite the burner three times and the whole stove including the cup gives a lot of heat to the surroundings, so in less than 5 minutes after boiling, the tea was no longer too hot for drinking. I don't count them. When entering the forum by PC I see much more information in the thread (e.g. the reply-#) than when using my mobile phone. #44 is my post from Dec26 2023 (page 3) and #73 is my post from Jan3 2024 (page 4). Kind regards
Hello, thanks for the reply Good luck to you who have snow, great snowy nature scenery Unfortunately, it has not snowed in our city this year, while in previous years, people used to make snow tunnels in winter to inquire about each other's health. Today, I used this hand-made flame spreader, and the condition of the flame improved May God help this situation. Amen
Sorry for beeing so quiet the last days, but I had a lot different things to do. But now I have some updates, the last days the material for my standart sized modell arrived so I could start cutting and working on the parts for it. Here are the first results: So it will be a full size modell, with a length of aprox 15-16cm, 4cm in diameter and a tank capacity of around 150ccm gasoline. Kind regards
@Eppo Hi dear friend I am also impatiently waiting for your next projects. Please prepare and send photos of all the stages, especially the jet type and its replacement in the coil and needle, during the construction of the oven. Thank you and good luck
I will try to not forget to mention the details. For the beginning I have to say that bending the small 4mm tubing for the burner coil of the small burner it was very easy, but now on the standard sized modell, I use 6x1mm tube and to proper bend this to a coil I had to head it up with my gas-torch. This makes the bending slightly difficult cause now I have to wear some gloves for heat protection. And those brass is storing the heat very well.
So much to do around the house, but so less free time. Cause spring is coming and now I have to do a lot of things in my garden. But for the weekend I had some time to work further on the burner. So I finished the "flower" and the needle too. Both parts are based on the experience from the small burner version and were built by using the same steps, the "flower" now is of course larger in diameter and has the characteristic bended sides and the needle is made of M4x0.5 spindle with a 30° cone head for the valve seating. Like I did it on the smaller burner version, I locked the flower on the spindle with a nut, so can play with the distance from valve seating to the flower for the best flame result and then cut off the upper end and weld the spindle to the flower. Kind regards.
Hi dear friend Happy coming of good and beautiful spring I hope you get the best result with the blue flame, good luck
Nothing special done, but today my little range extender arrived. It's a small canister with a capazity of 5oz/147ml, it is made of stainless steel and looking really nice. So enough to refuel the small burner 3 times and maybe for the standard size model to get one refueling. Kind regards
Today I was on my first outdoor trip in sring season and with me I took the small burner. So half of my trip I made a small lunch brake to eat something and made myself some tea. With the small burner it took around 12 minutes to boil aprox 250ml of water while the environment temperture was around 8 to 10°C and it burned around 15ml of gasoline. I find the small burner being the ideal size for short day trips, cause it don't need that much space in my backpack and holds enough energiy to make a warm drink. Maybe next time I try to make myself some soup. Kind regards
Hello, have a good time Happy spring nature to you It seems that your new Borde handmade stove does not burn blue like the previous one, and the water container is sooted and black. be happy
Yes I saw that yellow flame too. But the design of valve and needle didn't change, only the thread went from M4x0,75 to M4x0,5. Maybe it is because of the gasoline I used from my motorcycle, this gasoline is from last year and maybe don't has the same quality as new gasoline from the gas station. I will try to get to compare these gasolines. Or I should go for other octan values like 98octan or higher or give bio alcohol a chance. kind regards
Maybe synthetic / alkylate gasoline would be pure gasoline and produce blue flame: Alkylate gasoline | Brenntag Gasoline from gas-station has 5 % or 10 % bio-alcohol mixed into it and that could cause yellow flame.
