Fillercap washer Meva#1

Hello, Stovefriends,

I’m restoring a Tsjech Meva1 stove. No I find difficulty in keeping it pressurized. The problem turns out to be the seal in the fillercap. I applied a two pint washer from The fettlebox, they sell great quality. I chose the washer for the cap without a bleedscrew. But the cap leaks. Clearly visible when I hold the tank in a bucket half full with water. It leaks slowly, but kills the flame. Now I wonder: did I order the wrong type?

There could be multiple problems:
Maybe the washer is to small?
Or the cap doesn't seat properly.
Or the filler hole is damaged.

Can you post some pictures of it? That may clarify the situation.

 

It seems that a sizable part of the gasket (marked in red) was not well pressed under the thread.
