Got this at my place for a bit of a going over not done a lot to it just cleaned the vapouriser n jet and spun the tank round so the filler and gauge are now at the back so it shows the decal off better. On the jet it has 19 stamped on it does anyone know what size the jet hole would be on this it appears to be 0.4mm should it be 0.19mm ?? Runs ok like. Some flame shots i know we all like to see em Cheers pete Oh the thing that looks like a tent peg what purpose does that do. Is it original or someones added it later? Thanks pete
No way should the jet orifice be 0.19mm Pete. That approximates to a Tilley lamp jet (0.18mm) and even a Tilley CS56 paraffin stove vapouriser has an orifice of 0.23mm. Supplying the massive burner and ore-heater array on the OXO stove surely requires a bigger jet than the Tilley’s or most paraffin-fuelled camping stoves (0.32mm). 0.4mm sounds about right to me and combustion looks spot-on. The ‘19’ probably denotes a part number. The ‘tent peg’ component is I think the device referred to by BernieDawg when he wrote in respect of the example he had Nice work by the way! John
Thanks for info john it does burn better since i cleaned the carbon off the wick with the original jet so best just leave it as is. So his one has the tent peg too maybe its factory fit then? Is not a lightweight stove at all, it will be at newark this year holding down daves gazebo wont blow away like it did at ashover then will it Cheers pete
It looks the same, but doesn’t project as much? A contemporary catalogue illustration doesn’t show it, but maybe a production variant had it?
Thanks john well i will leave it like it is it does have a use tho. I attempted to light the stove at tea time but did not preheat enough so had a bit of a bonfire in garage fire blanket put it out eventually. Course parrafin was drained out of the cast iron by removing the tent peg so its there for a reason. Was a bit scary you gotta preheat it well not be impatient a beginers mistake really Cheers pete
Oh wow!! Those burners are better than watching Netflix!! Wish I could go to Newark this year and see it in action!
@presscall @alcina @The Warrior @gnome @CW @Tony Press @Tim Read Thanks for all the intrest lads hopefully it will be at newark returning to its owner Cheers pete
@pete sav Absolutely brilliant what a wonderful and rare stove, i am amazed at the flame pattern on this beauty if there was a flame shot/pattern of the month competition i am sure this would win hands down, certainly a winning stove where ever, well done Pete on fantastic addition
@SveaSizzler They maintain vapourisation by keeping the generator hot, same principle Tilley used on their CS56 stove, with an array of jets mounted on the veryicle generator tube below the main burner.
Thought it might be something like that. Like the Generator running across the RH burner on a Coleman suitcase.
@mr optimus thanks for the intrest yes great flame patterns on this one not one to take camping tho Ccheers pete
