    Made these little surrounds for a naked 71 and Svea I had. This one has baffle an plenty of holes. Used it yesterday out camping. They do get too hot to handle hot. This one did not darken paint when my 99's will.

    @Daryl thats pretty cool....lucky for me I had the OEM windshield...it just needed the wire potstands and I just made them out of SS rod.
    I like the engineering on the pot stands you have though!

    under normal use, i dont think it is possible to over heat a valve and cause it to candle. i screw mine all the way down to just snug and never had a issue. but if i had it loose enough to function. if i was melting a ice cream pot with bees wax. you could cause it to candle, but that is like 4-5 quarts running at about a hour. your going to see the flame burning hotter and hotter, letting off pressure, before your going to see the valve let go.

    you could use a hand pump and artificially jack it way up and possibly cause it, 3-4 pumps and you will be fine. its still my most favorite stove.
