    This is my Basford No. 4 camp stove, found in Australia.

    Red paint over black and brown.

    Paint removed by electrolysis.

    Some necessary panel beating.

    Some post fettle solder repair needed to be done on the fuel line join to the tank. Plenty of wet carbon felt was involved.

    I replaced the asbestos in the preheater basin with adhesive fibreglass.

    Looking at the information in another thread here (below) manufacture would have been the 1920s. In the thread below, there are photos of another Australian Basford No. 4 that belongs to Matty Purtell:

    View various restoration techniques. A 100-year-old hearth has been revived. It's really great.

    I love seeing very old stoves brought back to life. Nice job. What power supply did you use for the electrolysis bath? I’m thinking of converting an old computer power supply but I’m not sure how it’ll hold up.

    I have used 12 Volt batteries in the past, but I now use an old homemade battery charger.
