Very pleased with this Ebay purchase for less than £35 inc postage. Sloshed out residual fuel, refilled with Aspen4, primed with meths, and after a bit of coughing and spluttering, off it went, straight out of the box!
Having never actually having seen one in the flesh, I was surprised just how small it is, as well as how hot it all gets! Simmer control is virtually non-existant too, almost On, or Off.
I was debating whether to strip, clean and polish it, but I simply scrubbed it in hot soapy water and left it with its patina.

These are one of my favorites, when hiking in the Woods - Congrats on a great little stove.
When warm - mines will easily run on low/medium/high output, although low requires no wind/ or a windscreen.

With the silver tin, I would date it earlier than the ‘70s. Check the stove reference gallery.

Excellent find. I also think the tin looks older than the stove.

My thoughts. The sticker on the tank is the giveaway.

Primus 71 tin, pre-1963 style and marking - stove is a Primus 71 decal badged Optimus 80, not earlier than 1963, more probable to be a bit later but no Svea influence so still 1960's.
My bet is circa 1964-65 if tin and stove left factory together.
