Rules for posting questions?

Hello - can some please refer me to the rules. A recent post looking for a spare bremer sea swing bracket - or ideas on fabricating one - was removed but I am not sure why. Something about having to be a subscriber(?). Thanks. Trevor

I took a look. If you looked I can agree the rule could be more clear (and it might require interpretation for you).

Your preface just "...posting questions?" requires interpretation to get to your specific concern.
I'll pass on discussing it, I will comment.

Yours is a "want to buy" request.
Here is an example of what that looks like posted in line with site/policy:


note dday posted his request in a subscriber's forum/category:
The Trading Post [the forum for "Wanted, Trade, For Sale plus services offered by members"],
subscription required.

PS this site is very well organized, each forum is carefully described (per site design ).
From rules: "Please post your topics in the appropriate forum & save our staff some work."
opinion: All users will do well to read/review homepage for guidance to an "..appropriate forum..."

 

WTB is a benefit for those of us that support the forum.
It does not cost much.

 

I'm sure the comment on the removed post explained wanted ads needed to go in the Trading Post, which is a subscriber area. Any question re the fabrication of a bracket can be posted in the stove or fettling forum. Apologies for any confusion.
