I have looked over youtube and this forum...cant seem to get a straight answer...the unmodified roarer version of this stove that has the brass knob on the drawer under the tank...is that flame adjustable? I am not trying to get a low trickle flame, but every other roarer stove I have has some variance, and since I dont have an example of this stove in front of me I cannot tell.
Better to get the roarer or the modified silent burner?

Looking at something like this type of roarer:Surmet No:2 | Classic Camp Stoves

VS this type of silent: British Army No 2 MK 2 modified 1993 | Classic Camp Stoves

The roarer is adjustable, just about, but can become less so if the point of the control rod/wire is worn.

As to which is better? I don't personally believe that the silent version ever burned 100% correctly, but when I used a no.2 regularly (car camping) it was the silent version I used.

@frg7700 so coffee...bacon, beans...if you could compare the roarer to say a primus no1?

Seems a lot more fierce than a Primus. But I've seen people run those little German folding ovens on No.2s and they worked well.

Bringing this back to the top as I'm still curious but by what I can tell the roaring burner is a better stove? By what I've read is mainly the complaints on the "modified" type
