Haven’t collected this one as yet won it along with a few other items at a local sale room Here’s a few pics if anyone is able to assist with identifying It was listed as a possible Campaign spirit stove and mug
Just collected from the sale room this afternoon After a bit of cleaning the only mark on anything is on the bottom of the mug Not sure what the symbol is though or if it’s a military mark but Germany 0.5l is very clearly marked
it looks like the portable alcohol stove issued to the French military so i guess its for German army
If it's of WW1 vintage (as it appears), it probably wasn't issued as equipment to anyone's military. It was likely just produced as equipment available for sale to soldiers preparing for departure to the front, or for their families to purchase and send to them. It may have even been produced before the war began, in which case it could have ended up in a soldier's kit in any one of the armies involved, or just purchased and used by a civilian. In any case, it's an interesting stove and probably works reasonably well. ....Arch
Very similar to that one in design Oscar1 it is very well made the burner looks like a much earlier design used on earlier models I’ve seen than the date stamp on the mug as advised by gieorgijewski the date stamp is slightly later 1924-33 Fired it up last night using meths works fine the burner head could possibly do with a good cleaning inside but I’m unable to remove the absorbent material without damaging ill let it soak a bit longer and try again
