Yes. :-) I'd love to have more to say but am only confident by comparison with similar designs. I'm sure I've seen a similar burner, but the alcohol stoves I am more familiar with (Maxie, Punker, Adler) tend to have a different burner style.
Very interesting! In case you don't know how to use it-- Put alcohol in the tank. Open the knob and let a little fuel flow into the pan before turning it off. Light the fuel and let it burn. This will heat the burner. Turn the knob back on when the flame is almost ready to go out. The first few uses should be done in a safe place where spilled fuel won't cause a fire.
what does the lettering at the back of the main casting say? I'm no expert on these either, but I'd assume French, I'm sure there are similar in the reference gallery here....
@Sdarmstrong Hi, I'm not confident it runs on alcohol comparing it to one I have, the letters on the back under the tank to the right seem to say F B which stands for Flamme Bleu a French manufacturer with many models, some of which ran on Essence ie petrol/gasoline and others on Alcool / denatured alcohol . They look almost identical except for a sort of dentate shield on top of the generator. My alcohol FLAMME BLEU 00 has A on the underneath of the casting and this shield but the almost identical 00 which burns Essence does not have the shield and may have E stamped on the underside. However not all Flamme Bleu alcohol burners are the same and some do not have this shield. I am sure I have seen your model before while researching mine and I will see if I can find it again. Dave
I think it's L'Economie no 5 as shown in the Flamme Bleu catalogue for 1930 on the Ultimheat university website which I'm trying to download unsuccessfully.
