Hello everyone, The seller said it is unfired. Will check it tomorrow. Can't wait. Best regards, Migwar
Yeah, me too. I'm not a fan of having shelf queens. Every bit of kit must earn its keep. Migwar, while the stove may be unfired, the Trivet on top appears to have been mended with solder on one of its six spokes. <<Caveat Emptor>>, as the Romans used to say. Buyer Beware. Is it an Optimus?
Thank you very much @Remus1956; I will fire it at the first mistake. I appreciate it @SveaSizzler and for noticing the trivet; I initially thought it was dirt. Experiencing the blue flame holds great significance for me and should surpass the inclination of having a shelf queen. The stove is an Optimus, and I think it is a 5 and will verify it soon. Best regards, Migwar
@Migwar Not seen that style of combi filler cap and air release valves before, with the tab on the air release. It is in the 1985 catalogue though, so that might be some clue to dating the stove.
I haven't yet received the stove @Tony Press, I will surely provide pictures and details once I have it. @Dean it could be a non-genuine combi. regards, Migwar
Passed on unfired $75 8R yesterday. Nice bright burner and very nice paint. Was that lighter baby blue color not the common darker mantellic blue. I am a stove user and the two I have are plenty. You would see a picture of it burning if he would have taken $60
