I've posted a lot of Svea/Sigg pix over the years here, but none so spectacular as those!

First light for many years: Late model Radius No. 42 (just acquired).

It is burning off some accumulated crud in the burner head, but left no soot on the kettle.

    Priming with metho.

This will clean up into a first class burner!

First fire on a rebuilt Svea 123, this one is not the 123R I posted earlier in the thread.

Can’t beat a fry-up and kitchen renovations mean the stoves are out! Today my Optimus 199. Bacon, beans, mushrooms, egg and fried bread all cooked in a tiny frying pan and it was scummy IMG_5228.jpeg

First lite of an old 8R I got from an even older climber who has had this thing all over the world, from Himalayas to Rainier to El Cap. Told him it would keep getting used in the alpine. I'm not going to pollish it, just fettle and clean. It has some sealing issues so once that's squared away it'll be good to go.

Testing an unfettled 1913 Primus No.5 with its original silent burner. I did replace the rubber filler cap washer and the pip, and had to fit a spare top cap, but I didn’t take the burner off - just got the dirt off the nipple. I’ve no idea how long ago it had been used, but it looks like a long time ago.

    A minimal-intervention fettle of a very dirty/scruffy Primus 221L yielded surprising results....
