I bought this precious collection from a friend at one of our lamp and stove parties. This is a very rare and very elegant cast iron furnace. The previous collector painted parts of the cast iron, which would make it impossible to clean the rust inside. I used paint remover and sand blasting to maintain the cast iron. I will send photos of the finished product when it is finished.
Very old and interesting stove. Very good restoration. Congratulations @Lao9 You are lucky to have that friend too.
In stove forum . I join the well-deserved high praise, for you and your rare beautiful stove ! Early Gloria details iirc remain a work in progress. This is a relevant discussion Help needed to ID Swedish range stove . A scroll will find "...best guess for this cast iron table range stove is circa 1915+… " ... "watching/waiting to hear what the “brains-trust” (of vastly more knowledgeable stovies) come up with!" @Lao9 are the filler caps "Optimus" branded? fwiw
@Lao9 If you can photograph the fuel filler cap or confirm whether it has the Optimus brand globe on the filler cap, that will help us date the stove. Also, see discussion here: Optimus Gloria (No. 1 "Auto-Gloria") Tony
@Lao9 Can you please photograph the filler cap of the Lux stove to show the detail of its top; and can you please photograph the filler cap of the Gloria stove to show the stamping on it (I think I can just see the Optimus globe, but I’m not sure)? Thank you. Tony
