When attempting to rebuild fuel cap over pressure valves, I have soaked the caps in either denatured alcohol, or dollar store acetone overnight to break the caps adhesive thread bond. I have been using an unbranded Amazon pentagon driver or the a Taiwanese pentagon driver purchased via ebay. The removal tools have been unable to break the fitting loose. And in each case the tools used have started to round out the fittings. I have not tried heating / torching the caps because I am concerned about damaging the spring. Any soaking fluid suggestions other than the denatured alcohol or acetone I have been using? David L
This is one of those things where patience is the key. Give it a week and then test to see if you can break it free. Give it more time if it doesn't move. While you're waiting, you should try to get a better pentagon driver, given that the ones you have are rounding the fitting. Best wishes. ....Arch
Srv is often glued. Use heat with a lighter to soften the glue. You do not need much heat so the spring will be ok.
