I am introducing myself to the forum with my first post after learning a lot by reading in silence, without having anything to show.

I was given the opportunity to buy 2 new and unused units of the Enders Baby 9063, full with cardboard box and unopened instructions.

I am showing you the photos because I have doubts about one of them.

Everything looks gorgeous, I don’t know the date but “made in Western Germany” gives a year range.

The second one is the one I ask for help, the control knob is totally different to every 9063 I could find online:

Anyone knows if this is Enders original knob or something added to the stove?

    Thanks!!!

    Hi @Khaynne

A very warm welcome to CCS.

I own 6 Enders 9063 stoves from the earliest to the later types and all of them have a metal key to operate the regulator control.

I have not personally seen a cookie cutter style knob fitted as standard to a 9063.

However, there are far more knowledgeable CCS members than myself in regard to Enders stoves who will no doubt be able to advise further on this topic.

Thanks @Pharael, probably the best will be to disassemble the part to take a photo with more detail. If it is not Enders made it looks really well made the joint, it does not come out easy. I could understand doing this if losing the original flame adjuster, but I don’t understand doing this to a new unused stove.

I think this have to be wrong. As you see from the box and the instruction paper you will see there should be the special key. I have several of those, and seen pics from a lot more.
Why just buy the right key for it, and keep the nob?
Good luck with a beautyfull stove!

@Skauvill thanks for your help, I just arrived home and disassemble it, here it is:

It is impossible to take it out, if made by someone must be glued in place.

Just my 2 cents, but I would think that a plastic (i.e., insulated) knob would be more functional than a metal one that has to be removed so it doesn't get too hot to touch. That is assuming, of course, that the shaft doesn't get too hot during use, melting the knob. So even though it's not original, maybe it's better?

    Just a thought - Paul

Older post but just an observation. If the plastic knob is original, how could you adjust the flame while the burner is inserted in the case? I don’t think the knob would be positioned outside of it. Also, if you look closely at the follow-up picture of just the valve/knob assembly, you can see scratches on the shaft that don’t appear “factory”. Perhaps a prior owner swapped out the valve stem with another stove or glued on this knob to a damaged shaft even though it appears unfired. The knob appears to have a brass insert that is originally part of the knob. Insert appears to have glue/gunk at joint with shaft. Regardless, I’m jealous. 2 great looking stoves! A real find.
