I have had this stove for a while, not quiet sure what type it is, a mix and match. The case is from an Optimus No 8 resprayed by the PO, the burner and tank look like they are from an Optimus No 8R, again i am not sure as there is no "made in Sweden" or makers name, the fuel cap will not screw on to a Swedish stove of the same size filler (goes half a turn the stops) but the Swedish filler caps that i have tried all fit, maybe a clone but well made, the slot in the case for the control wheel is so low you could not use the stove anyway.
Check your tank, burner and control wheel against the Taiwan 8R clones in the Reference Gallery. Cheers Tony
nice Optimus 8 case. fwiw, me talkin, not best example for gallery. ANYWAY, myself bbstein & others see filler cap and think PT1 (Russian 8R copy. i chkd my '67 PT1 here) BUT i post to say I'm with Tony: it's likely Asian. and to save you some site searching & head scratching (been there done that). More specifically: JAPAN credit @itchty, the source 8Rs and 8R-like stoves Sunmate pic below i cut n pasted from source, the "Sunmart" is typo it's Sunmate (we knew that) note the slotted filler cap. Yours has different control knob but this 8R copy from factory/production line in Japan, would still be my #1 suggestion. I welcome corrections/updates. Ok, next pic, same source (and pic is directly below in source thread too). we note the PT1 slotted filler cap has beveled top edge (close but not as close a match as the Sunmate above it). atb folks. a fan of 8s, 8Rs & 8R copies, omc out
@Tony Press I have had a search of the gallery, and agree it is most likely a clone from Tiawan. Cheers
