Has anyone had difficulty communicating with Julian Shaw at Tilley Lamps and Stoves? I placed an order with him at the beginning of February and when it arrived one of the items seemed not to be as described. I sent an email to find out if it was a misunderstanding on my part or, if not, to give him the opportunity to make a correction. I didn’t get any response for 3 weeks, so I followed it up with a phone call. He told me he was sorry, but he was attending a funeral and would respond upon his return home. To date I have heard nothing. Has anyone else run into this?
I have only dealt with them through ebay....had a cancellation once and then the closed the entire store for a few weeks. No explanation. Haven't dealt with them in a long time
yes I have made a few purchases from him in the past. the best option is through Ebay. if there is an issue you can get them involved to help resolve the issue. he has always been slow to respond.
I ordered a few items 4 days ago from him. Sent him a message this morning about when they would ship, he answered promptly, and mailed it out. Even included an extra for the wait.
I've always found him easy enough to deal with through eBay, but then I've never had an actual problem so... I don't know what he's like when one occurs.
I bought a batch of NRVs years ago. The head would not fit the tool without being de-burred and filed to fit. They would not thread without de-burring and filing the threads. Never purchased from him again. I posted it here.
