After all the headaches of trying to get one of these (Pitney Bowes sucks for stoves from England) I finally got one of these really cheap and successfully from England... With them sending it Pitney Bowes...

I think the tin was a mint green color..hmmm but looks complete. Got it in the soup soaking to remove the grime and rust.

Interesting note... The NRV was the easiest I've ever had taken out... It was loose and the even more interesting thing was that it was like bakelite-like gasket. That's a new one.

Before the soup (my homemade "evaporust"

I'm probably going to remove the rust from the box and redo it as I think it's going to keep rusting

Oddball wrench in here...I don't think it's a stove wrench...

Please consider leaving the tin 'as is' and conserving it- you've found something quite special there and it's an important survivor.

The tins are normally branded 'Thermidor' and more rarely 'Cobra'- this is the first time I've seen one marketed as an RM!

Interesting given how common the 1-pint RM wickless picnic stove is, you've somehow ended up with a 1/2-pint model...

@Pancho yeah haha...you noticed? It seems like a lot of the stoves I have been looking for finally started popping their heads up and saying hello. Haha

@Blackdog oh man lucky haha...I literally was going to bath this one today as I thought RM stoves were a "dime a dozen" or super common. They're usually the 1 pint size but I'm trying to collect a single example of a half pint 96 like stove...I didn't know there was an RM like this until I saw it.
I did wash it as it was covered in dirt from sitting on a shelf.
Thanks you for letting me know... As I said it was about to go into a bath.

And that's the end of that. Based on the recommendation from @Blackdog I'll be holding off on refinishing the tin... Thanks for the heads up!

Things to note... It was covered in something sticky and felt like sugary syrup but didn't have a smell. This was how it looked after just washing it with soap and water with a plastic toothbrush. Most of the patina was not even patina it was just soot and crap. Took a gasket for a standard cap and NRV...pip was hard but black rubber (not cork)
Pump leather was just dry... It was just oiled up.
My wife thinks it looks like "the thing" from Adams Family as the legs are almost straight down.
Other than that it was pretty straight forward to bring back to life. Interesting 2 piece lipstick...new one to me with that design.
Burned poorly initially... But a single prick cleaned that up
    I like it!

Ok idiot moment- I was thinking about this stove earlier and was sure I had seen some before, and on checking there are a few of these in the 'RM' section of the reference gallery, my apologies, I need more sleep! Certainly less around than the 'Thermidor' version of this stove. And much, much scarcer than the common 1-pint RM model so it's still a good find.

Well done for getting it up and running so quickly, looks in great condition to be producing such a clean flame. These are well made little stoves and the tank lettering is very classy!

@Blackdog ok! Glad to know its a good find to have, I will keep the box as is but try to cancel the rust a little so it does not get worse.
It had a pretty sooty mesh in the lipstick and needed a lead gasket there as well, but all in all was surprised it burned as nice as it did. The other oddity was the bike wrench, dont know why the original owner left that wrench in there as it does not fit it anyway...

I don’t know what sort of “soup” you have soaked it in but it has left it looking rather pink . Not a good sign.

@Driftwood Its the camera and light. Its not pink (leaching) like it would be with citric acid. I ran the tank in a solution of something we call here "simple green" which is a really strong dish soap with anti grease in it. It does nothing to the brass, but does lift off old grime.
The tin box was bathed in a homemade solution for rust that is a combination of citric acid and washing soda. If I put the brass in there it would turn pink in about 10 minutes or so. But...on the box it pulled the majority of the rust off and a lot more of the original blue/green/mint colored paint returned.
Let me get a better photo for you...give me a minute.

Edit: this is outside at 7:18 in the morning here in Los Angeles...I live near the beach so it's overcast with clouds but you can see it's not pink and comparing to the condition I got it I actually was surprised how much mint color was on the tin.

You're welcome. I really like the depth of the embossing/stamping on the British stoves.

    Well done!
The spanner is from a South African manufacturer of sliding door and window systems (Google is my friend today).
My unfired one of this model has more rust on the tin lid than yours, or, with holes in it, maybe that is less rust ....
