    Hello from the newbie!
So I’ve dived into work on various bits and pieces of the stoves I have. Pump cap lid has a hexagram shaped hole in it, can anyone point me to the tool that can be used here?
    Thank you for any pointers,
    Alicia

Be careful removing the part, some have cracked it. For me, if the SRV seals I leave it, but it could be stuck. A few of a different design are easily taken apart.

Soak the cap in some denatured alcohol for 30 minutes prior to attempting to remove. This softens the shellac thread sealer.

    For standard srv caps

    For srv pump caps

Thanks, Duane, I won’t mess with it if it’s working.

And thanks to everyone who provided much needed information! I’m learning a lot here, and it seems that if it ain’t broke, don’t mess with it! When the weather gets warmer, I’ll post pics of the stoves I have. 8R, 99, 96, and a recently acquired 210. The 210 is complete enough to be run, just needs some pot legs.

Be careful using 5 sided tools that have rounded points. They tend to, often, result in damage to the SRV.
