Primus 16 missing control rod

Good day gentlemen. Found this nice looking plated Primus 16 at a flea market. Missing parts both burner caps and the control rod.

Not sure but I think I can make fashion something from a bit of brass pipe somehow attached to a wheel.
Found this pic here on CCS. I think the knurled nut is attached to the burner still.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Take the existing packing nut from the control shaft so you can determine whether the burner requires the No.16 control wheel/shaft/nut, or a more conventional one.

Edit: The photo of the control shaft/knob/nut is from @Thumper here. The same thread shows that the shaft of the control spindle is a hex, and not round.

Your control spindle is round and has a hole for a locking pin and therefore looks like it takes a more conventional control wheel.
