Picked one up last Sunday and seems to be a home grown item out of Bend Oreganos t. Interesting stove, grill, oven and smoker. It came in a bag and was never used with a bracket for rotisserie chicken option. Anyone have any experience with this stove? layout of the briquettes seems efficient way of using this design.
Pyromid Outdoor Cooking System They're on ebay regularly $60+. I bought one that popped fairly cheap, haven't tried it. And... ...I goofed. I thought, MINE (in the ad) was bigger/normal. YOURS looks bigger, like most i recall seeing. Mine came and to my surprise the bag is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2. Yours is bigger right? If so, mine is small/minnie and they come in more than 1 size. When looking at digital image i slip up when it comes to size/scale. That and I see what i want to see at times.
Yes, this one is the larger one. After reading some, Pyromid had a couple of systems out and I think Pyromid was absorbed by another Company called Eco something. Everything is stainless steel and seems untouched. The way I understand it is it had a basic system and additions you could add like the oven, dehydrator and smoker along with a back pack/Hiking version. I could only find a few vids on it. In the back of the manual it shows the extras you can order like Coleman does with their product. I lucked out because it came with a 1970’s Kelty backpack with the mountaineer frame. Both are new. Funny how people hold on to this stuff and never use it then let it go. The backpack and stove was a journey long forgotten about. I will set it up and take pics this weekend and post them. I have never seen a Pyromid stove before last week let alone seen one.
Hey there, I just picked one up at a local thrift market, but the user manual is damaged… Do any of you guys have a user manual that you could take some pictures of and upload? also, it’s been a couple years since the last post… How has it been using it?
Had the 12” model without extras, used a few times then sold it onwards. Packed down scarcely an inch thick, could be handy always stashed in the vehicle with the non-volatile charcoal briquets for say, an impromptu seafood feast! Dunno wether the pins were also stainless for regular use around salt water. Setup & stowage was it’s own not-too-hard puzzle. 9 briquettes per session racked edgewise & primed with newspaper, foil liner in the base for easy cleanup (liners sold prefab or easily made your self). Kinda neat; might’ve kept had I had the smoker enclosure.
My dad actually did the graphic design work for Pyromid, they were based out of Redmond, oregon. He worked for a place called The Printing Post that did all the designing and printing of their brochures/print ads/manuals. He’s had the one he got from the company back in the early 90’s and still uses it to this day.
Thank you. Found this place while looking for other folks who may have used the pyromid grill/smoked.
Bought one years ago at a yard sale but haven't use it. Got it out today to check it out again. I was still in original boxes with all the accessories. Now in the bag except the Pyro-table that doesn't fit. Has two of the flyers. owners manual and recipe book. Was a fad with Land Rover clubs back then and the people I got it from had two in the driveway. I use a trailer camping so if I don't use it will sell it or give it to one of the kids.
