What are you all using to hold your extra white gas/gasoline/coleman fuel while camping? I’m trying to figure out a smaller carrying bottle for camping with my gasoline stove.
White gas or kerosene: Trangia Fuel Bottles. MSR Fuel Bottles. Alcohol: Small HDPE bottles. Trangia Fuel Bottles.
Spun aluminium Sigg fuel bottles are period correct, I suppose. They dent quite easily. The hipsters and purists will cringe, naturally, but for lightweight & secure gasoline transport an ordinary soda bottle is excellent, and offered in myriad sizes from 1/2 pint to 2 litres and costs next to nothing. You can get your nickel back, too!
I have found old Sigg fuel bottles and MSR fuel bottles in thrift stores mixed in with the cheap Chinese knock-off aluminum water bottles. They don't know the difference, and I've paid $1.99, 2.99 for them. Usually for Coleman gas I used a Sigg bottle. One I bought in 1974. I got a 1 liter Cavog rectangular can as extra with the purchase of an Optimus 99. Alcohol, I have 2 Swedish hip flasks for the Snussbork cooker, a 1 pint black Nalgene bottle, a KleanStrip 1 quart can, a Dutch Army fuel bottle. [I think it's made by BRS]. Also I'm experimenting with a Chinese water bottle labeled 'Swissgear' to see if it holds up. Some paint flaking off near the bottom, but no corrosion visable yet. I have 5 gallons of Racing Methanol in a 5 gallon jerry can. $5/gallon at the local Hot Rod Shop. Better than the $21/gallon for KleanStrip at Home Depot.

I was considering painting a 16oz Miller Light aluminum bottle with epoxy and a layer of fiberglass, but I bought a case of 24 Brunton fuel bottles years ago. No need for it. Y'all can take full credit for trying that one and I hope it works as good as I think I would. Or Plasti Dip maybe?
I use Nalgene PETG square bottles for kerosene, "F" style (oblong) metal cans for Coleman fuel, and oval HDPE bottles with flip-top spouts for alcohol.
