I took a punt on this Enders 9060D on the Bay of evil. It looked a bit rusty so didn’t hold much hope of the condition of the pump etc but after a few pumps the NRV popped and started working. The tank pressurised wonderfully, I have my suspicions it’s been serviced but not used in a short while. I filled it with Aspen, preheated it with meths and it fired up like a good ‘un. I’m so excited! sometimes you can get a bargain on fleabay.
I think I saw that one....looks good! Im kind of weird and change all the gaskets anyway...but I like to fettle haha
I do normally but the one on the fuel cap looks and feels new. The pump is the nicest I’ve felt so I’m leaving it. I’m dealing with the rust inside at the minute then I’ll polish the brass tomorrow. I’d repaint but the decal on the lid is a problem so I’m leaving it. I couldn’t believe it fired up as good as it did. Under £50 Bargain.
Every once in a while I get a user stove like this. Seems like it was still being used fairly recently and besides the outside condition the stove runs great. Usually though haha...I get the rough ones that have not been run in 20 years type.
That’s the best way, I’m just messing around really as opposed to real fettling. I have done a few 111’s and 8R’s etc. This one has been used with normal unleaded I think so it’s filthy and smells a bit weird. I’ll give it a quick once over tonight. Pretty much all my stoves are users with the price some are reaching over here nowadays. Happy with this though.
