Do you know the feeling, that you see something and that keeps nagging in your mind, like a splinter in your brain.
You know you shouldn't buy it, but you can't resist.
I saw this add about 2 months ago, added it to my watch list. This weekend it popped up that it would soon expire.

So, I contacted the seller and now I am the proud owner of a, new in metal box, Optimus Nova 125y edition.

I will probably never use it. But for some reason I had to buy it

My garage is full of stoves I don't need but couldn't resist. I know the feeling well.

“Need” is such an arbitrary word, really. Who gets to decide that?*

*Those happily ensconced in the holy bonds of Matrimony may have some additional guidance on this matter, still the point remains

    As Jimmy Buffett sang:
Need is a relative thing these days,
    It borders on desire.
A high tech world full of bright shiney things
We think that we really require.....

Thank you all for your reactions

And yes, I am fully aware of the richness that I have.
The fact that I leisurely can buy something that costs me almost €200,
without feeling it in my pocket with the knowledge that I will never use it.
While so many are hungry, without homes or a safe place...

You could give away all your stuff, and join them. Maybe that would assuage any feelings of guilt?

Well - if you do have a sudden change of heart - be sure to hold back one good stove - to heat up beanie-weenies &c.
