I got a really well used baby pretty cheap and I think I know why. Not sure... Maybe they had a reason but there was some new rods spot welded on this pot stand. This made it impossible to put everything back into the box.
About 10 minutes a side with a hacksaw took care of that. Gonna leave this one kind of rough looking.... There were more problems but it was just user error... Like they used the wrong kind of wick which was stuck inside and had to be burned out.
Jet was gone... someone pricked the shit out of it to keep it running.
Bet it cooked some awesome meals though... It's going to cook more.

Nice one! Always a great feeling to get a stove up and running :content: .

    Small tank - - oops…fuels runs out a number of times :!: - - burnt wick! :(

Did you fit a ceramic wick or standard fabric-type wick?

Must have been a reason for the mod to the grate, would be fun to know.
Love my Baby Enders! They seem to have used 4 different styles of grates over the years.

@Pharael this was really rough...a lot rougher than usual. personally I think the person must have used the hell out of it and when it stopped working tried to fix it but didn't know exactly how.
The tube was really bent up and it took a lot to try to reshape the tube without crushing it.
The wick was something hemp like...fibers but it burned up like a candle. I don't have any of it anymore to show you as I only had ashes left. So the wick it had was inserted with a wire that was bent in a way like an arrow head. So when it went in he probably couldn't get it out. I almost didn't as the wire was really brittle and kept breaking off. In a last try I brought out the torch and it burned like a cigarette for like an hour. A couple taps and what was left of the wire came out with ashes...
It leaked from the tank connection too...

Seriously just needed famine and I would have the riders of the apocalypse in my garage haha

@Majicwrench hell if I know haha.... It has weird pegs on the bottom too. Just left them as they don't touch anything haha

I have 3 of these... The U shaped bar... This one...and the one that has that spider looking pot holder (something my wife called it and described stepping on it haha)

I really like enders stoves... These are pretty nice. We are taking them to Yosemite next month

Nice resurrection! Looks to be running very nicely. You did a great job removing the extra bars on top of the grate. If you didn’t show the “before”, I wouldn’t have noticed there used to be anything there.
I have one Baby, same grate as yours. Took a while to bring back to life.

Good job. Not sure but if you have ever owned a welder can easily understand the need to use it. It like the little baby calling you to lite it.
