Hi guys. I'm new to this group, but also joined the Classic Pressure Lamp group earlier this year. I won an auction for a Primus no. 54 silent burner stove just recently, and was wondering about its date of manufacture. (See pics). Sadly it's missing a few bits including the two top of the burner flame spreaders and its jet, so a thorough rebuild is required here and of course the state of the NRV is unknown at this stage and the leather cup washer is poked. I'm looking to getting it up and running in tge near future to take on another all 1940's and 1950's only equipment camping adventure. Any ideas of its year of build? Cheers Simon

Very difficult to distinguish what that obscure letter actually is. To me it looks like a 'T', but can't be sure. Not sure what the 19 means either. Thanks Simon
Duane I tend to agree with you, it does look like one side of an X, therefore making it 1933. Hmmm, interesting. I unscrewed the burner from the fount, and although the jet is missing, the burner is blocked solid. I'll soak it in turpentine to soften the hardened grud that's blocking it. Onwards and upwards. Hello, Today, I received the pictures below from someone who is looking for items at the flea market on my behalf. The stove is lacking a burner. Based on the information under this thread above, I believe it should have originally had a silent burner. I will look through my spare parts for a compatible burner and will at least attempt to use a Primus roarer to get it working again. All the best, Migwar
that's got a beautiful patina. you will want to check out the well-known auction sites for a spare burner, they are out there! frank daniel
