Coleman feather 442

    Hi new to the forum need some help

    I have a coleman 442 started to have issues last year I've brought new generator, new pump, valve assembly cleaned everything, the stove holds pressure.

    All I'm getting is fuel leaking from the bottom of the burner box

    What am I missing
    Any help appreciated

    Welcome Matt - I don't have a 442, but do have a 440 and 3024, and some of the older 400's, so this comment may not apply, but did you make sure the little hook on the valve assembly engaged the eyelite on the new generator's cleaning wire end? Also are the burner rings clean? Have you tried lighting with less pressure? My 440 and 3024 are easy to use and relatively trouble free, but I have a older, brown 400 that loves to flood and is very finicky starting, and I have read and heard of others have coleman single burners that just seem to flood easily. Good luck, perhaps someone with more knowledge will chime in.

    Ive seen 2 stoves do this. A 533 that described it doing this when selling (I got it cheap) and a friends 422 like yours. Both cases the stove was already lit when the fuel came out. The 533 fireballed but we got the 422 out before the flame got below the burner. Both caused by an overfull tank. The only other thing is whether there is a square pad of fibreglass inside the burner. This is meant to soak up little spills when cold

    Do the prickier wire opens fully the jet? If you have forgotten to attach it to the valve core or is longer than required, the jet may be partly blocked with this wire preventing spray formation at the start up.
    If you problem persists do the follawing experiment. Pressure the tank, preheat the generator with a blow torch then open the valve to see haow it performs. If the stove simmers even when the lever is High position then this indicates that your jet is blocked.
    If again your problem persists, the upper hole at the air/fuel tube may be clogged or you have filled the tank with too much fuel. Remove the exess of fuel and try to relight it.
