A chance find, an unused old stock outer burner cap for the fixed flame ring silent burner fitted to the earlier model No.5s. Stains on the underside are blackberry juice (don't ask why!). It has been passed on to a young lady in need of this very part, her No.5 may appear in the reference gallery yet.
An example of a similar 'CORONA NO.5' outer cap on a stove posted by Ross here. Something which hadn't occurred to me until now @igh371 is the mix of burner types which were likely used on the Western Front. I have always assumed that the Kenrick "Aurora"s and Soutters supplied to the War Office were likely all fitted with roarer burners. The stoves supplied by Howes & Burley could well have all been fitted with silent burners based on that 1917 dated find. It begs the question of why of course- perhaps both types were tried and silents were nicer to work around but less reliable in service. Regardless, by 1917 at the latest Howes and Burley had developed an ideal product for civillian sale post-war.
