Hello all. First post, way too long-time lurker. Please let me know if this is in the wrong place. Can't express how much I've gleaned from this forum and I thank you all! You see, I too have a stove problem and I've found a support group for that problem. Just don't tell my wife. Looks like a nice compact package to be honest. Pretty tempting and I'll be watching for price drops. I've seen some feedback for the IWalker stuff and people seems moderately pleased at the results. Has a silent burner option but the pricing is all out of whack on Ali. I'd let this one settle and stew for a bit. Also good to know it can burn BUTTER and WASHING OIL . Sometimes things get lost in translation I guess. Figured I'd share this to the hive mind. I hope to contribute further as well. Cheers all!
My (unqualified) view on this: I guess something like an Optimus Polaris is going to set you back GBP £150, plus GBP £70 for a Bernidawg silent cap (may be less for US customers). So comparatively it's the price of a silent Polaris or equivalent. Though a Polaris certainly doesn't state it can burn butter, perhaps Jujitsu2000 could do a review of a Polaris burning butter - we know it can burn more than its advertised fuels albeit not optimally. My personal thought is that it's unlikely to be better than a Polaris or equivalent. The advantage of Chinese clones is that they are usually substantially cheaper. This appears to be the same price. Unfortunately unless someone buys one and compares it with the Optimus/MSR/Primus model, none of us can really offer an opinion. It's a lot of money to take a punt.
Agreed on all fronts. The butter was supposed to have a well earned "lol" behind it! Prices on these things tend to swing wildly on AE. I'll hold off until a) the pricing is even decipherable and b) There are at least a few reviews in the wild.
If it has a shaker needle then I'm sold. I love the shaker needle on the whisperlite. The pump on this Chinese stove looks to be solid aluminum, which I also like, and that's a really beautiful silent cap for it at well. Definitely considering but holding off for now
Butter is a rather perishable and expensive fuel. They probably get away with this claim because no one will actually try it. Ben
Some iWalker sellers ask unreasonable prices for stoves that can be bought at lower prices elsewhere. Sigma iWalker frequently has the best price. I've been quite happy with the service he provides. He doesn't have the MF519 listed yet. You might want to wait a while and check back with his website in the future. ΣIWALKER
Sigma iWalker has them for $130 US if anyone is still interested. I ordered one with the intention of modifying it to fit a Trangia cookset like the discontinued X2 did. I've bought from him before and was happy with the experience.
The MF519 arrived today. Visually, I would rate the quality as very good. I'm happy that it will fit the Trangia 25 without modification. The legs are intended to rotate 180 degrees before use. If you only turn them 90 degrees, the top of the stove will be level with the burner hole on the Trangia. It probably isn't necessary, but I plan to make a piece of 1/4 inch wood to set the stove on. That will lift the flame up a bit. The wood could double as a cutting board. I will try to test it tomorrow. I'm planning a local backpack trip and might not get to play with this stove until I get back in a few days.
the multitool that is shown with these stoves looks like a copy of the optimus nova tool IWALKER MF519 Multi-fuel Outdoor Camping Stove Split-type Burner Diese the nova tool has a magnet on it and the 'shaker' below the jet also has a magnet in it meaning the jet can be cleaned by shaking the stove when it's not running or the tool's magnet can moved under the stove, repelling the shaker needle upwards through the jet unlike shaking, this magnet cleaning of the jet can be done while the stove is running if there are instructions for the MF519 it should tell us if this is the case

As we've all noticed stove prices on the 'Baba and Express have skyrocketed. The IWalker store on Ebay has this and all of its stoves discounted right now. MF519 is $100 and comes with the isobutane adapter. So I sprung on it and will report back. Noticed it has some sort of CEJN adapter thing and I appreciate it has a control knob at the pump.
