Hello. Hope this post is in the right place. Help!. My primus 100 stove had a silent burner, but when last used, it decided to melt. I am told this can be due to the flame igniting under the burner? Anyway Im up for solutions, im hoping someone might have a flame spreder as I would be happy to return to a roarer. The lipstick & burner bell are in good condition. Colin
It looks like a bad case of what the manufacturers called 'lighting back', ofte called 'underburn' here, try a search for more info. It would be worth ringing Mike at Base Camp regards a flame spreader, there are some old stock Sievert burner bell/flame spreader combinations listed, he might sell a spreader separately.
Thanks Blackdog. I have tried there, nice chap, but a bit out of my hobbies budget at the moment. I realise these are not as plentiful as say for the 96 stove. Colin
@Colin Tiley Good while they lasted right? I prefer the sound of roarer myself and have made DIY flame plates for some silent burners. How are your DIY skills. Your DIY skills will improve if you put them to work. Don't be afraid to experiment. Burners with tall riser tube need long legs. Seems 2/3 coverage works and shaped like Svea 123.
Thanks Daryl for the images. Although I wanted an original spreder. If nothing turns up I would be prepared to have a fettle. I was just hoping someone may have one. I will wait & see if anyone has one to sell first. Colin.
